Weddings
Over the easter break I shot two weddings for friends one a friend I met
through work and another a friend that I have known since college. I found
these both to be a verry rewarding experience as it's a chance to not only document one of the most
important days in their lives but also to share in their joy and celebration.
Before the
weddings arrived, I knew that thorough preparation would be key to ensuring
everything went smoothly. One essential step in the process was conducting a
recce of the wedding venue. This pre-wedding visit allowed me to familiarize
myself with the location, scout for potential photo spots, and envision the
shots I wanted to capture on the day. Walking through the venue, I took note of
the lighting conditions, the layout of the ceremony and reception areas, and
any potential obstacles or challenges that might arise.
On the day
of the wedding, I arrived early to set up my equipment and ensure everything
was in place for the day ahead. As the bride and groom prepared for their
special moment, I took the opportunity to capture candid moments of
anticipation, nervous excitement, and quiet reflection.
As the
ceremony began, I focused on capturing the raw emotions and heartfelt moments
that unfolded before me. From the exchange of vows to the first kiss as
newlyweds, each moment was a testament to the love and commitment shared
between the couple. I moved discreetly around the venue, capturing a mix of
candid shots and posed shots when they were signing the legal book.
Another
part of these days was the group shots, arguably the most important shots
outside of the ceremony itself.
