Students Union
My
three years working as the photographer for Huddersfield Students' Union have
been a whirlwind of excitement, capturing the essence of student life in all
its glory. From the bustling energy of Freshers' Week to the competitive
spirit of Varsity, my camera and I have been there, freezing moments in
time that define our student union experience.
At
the heart of it all are the events that bring our student community together. Freshers'
Week kicks off the academic year with a bang, with the Welcome Fairshowcasing the vibrant tapestry of clubs and societies. Hudd Live pulses
with music and laughter, while the legendary Hudd Crawl paints the town
in shades of different teams dressed in brightly coloured T-shirts.
Feel
Good at Hudd is where students unite in celebration and connection. The
Big Get Together is a melting pot of diversity and shared experiences,
while the Hudd Crawl becomes a good way for students to blow off some
steam and reconnect with friends before the new year gets too hectic. Elections
mark a time of reflection and renewal, as students shape the future of our
union with their votes. And then there's Varsity—a showcase of sporting
prowess and school spirit that ignites the campus with passion and pride.
I
have been there to capture the raw emotions and unscripted moments that define
student life. From the joy of victory to the quiet moments of reflection, each
photograph tells a story—from victory, loss, drunken moments, and friendship.
As
I look back on my time at Huddersfield Students' Union, I am grateful for the
opportunity.
